I have not posted for ages as I got caught up with my mum and her battle with cancer. She very sadly passed away and I have been trying to re-engage in normal life, what ever that means…..yikes…. mine always feels abnormal.

I was feeling very uninspired, the weather not helping but I was lucky enough to go with my family traveling in Morocco for a week and we stumbled upon http://www.lejardin.ma/. It was a feast in everyday , gorgeous in green and black, even matching birds. So nice to feel newness and inspiration and take the grey away.

I have held off putting up pics of where I live…. I am not very good at showing off myself or any of my bits….(I am usually on a beach in a kaftan) ….including the bit I live in .

I have always loved messing about with where I live…its a space filled with odds and sods….(no, not the kids) things I have found from the street, car boot sales, flea markets, things friends have made and from their shops. Its always changing and I thought I would grin and bare showing you….. at least how it looked on a tidy day a few months ago .

Its been so long since I updated my blog. Even my portrait looks outdated…sadly I don’t look better or younger! Real life seems to have taken over… most of which involves children and solving endless problems which leave writing a blog pure luxury……so they are all back to college, school or jammed in a cupboard and I have a tea in hand so happily able to share a job I did that too was a joy in the making.

I went with my daughter Tana to see my Dad in Durban South Africa in November while I was on a job. He took me for tea at this hotel , the warm sun seems like a long time ago. I have had enough of winter and thought I would cheer myself up and look at these sunny pics.

This bathroom blew me away! I honestly wanted to spend a day in it and it inspired me….well first I would have to live somewhere warm then I would have to be really well off as its the best of everything and to top it i would need to be  confident enough to walk around the huge space in my birth suit….I am working on it all but I may run out of time in this life:) the house is available as a location for shoots through Amazing Spaces in South Africa http://www.amazingspaces.co.za/ and it belongs to the people who own the lovely Weylandts Interiors.  http://weylandts.co.za/

I am not quite sure why but I started doing a series of pictures of bathrooms/loos .I think I was inspired one night after a few glasses of wine in the Au Petit Fer a Cheval (Horseshoe Bar) in Paris. The bar is dinky and slinky with a beautiful zinc topped horse shoe shaped counter and the loo was hardly big enough to sling a cat but it was so cool…. anyway the series is ongoing and I thought I would share a few so far…..

Some of the most favourite objects in my home come from a friend’s shop, Larache in Calvert Street, London. The quietly spoken Hassan Hajjaj, is both artist and designer of ‘things’ that you’re never quite sure if you want to wear, sit on or just look at. His work has been all over the place from the Hayward Gallery to the permanent collection at Victoria & Albert Museum as well as designing the fabulous Andy Wahloo bar in Paris. I was lucky enough to photograph his Riad in Marrakech for Selina Lake’s book ‘Bazaar Style’ and also for a feature story. He is known for designing T shirts for MoMo as well as for a host of other interesting people and has recently made some quite unbelievable sofas covered in funky Moroccan blankets.

There is something so unique about Morocco, some of the poorest people on the planet who have transformed their homes into living art….. simple, incredible colour and light and boy are they good at cushions.
